the best way to connect wood to metal in a car?
i am converting a van into a camper van i am stripping out all the panels roof and floors, so it would be nothing but just bare metal, so i have to frame the inside of with 2x4 wood, so i wanted to know what would bw the best way to connect the two, would liquid nails work? whats the best choice?
Whatever you do-- DO NOT use hot melt. I converted an old panel van, and covered the whole interior with carpet. I was pimping all winter and spring. One hot summer day I opened my van only to see a huge pile of carpet and sticky glue. It came off the walls and ceiling and there was hot melt oozing everywhere. I think if I was to put wood into a van I would use self drilling sheet metal screws and attach to the van ribs or connect furring strips to van ribs.
