Camping Traveling
Looking to do a Smoky Mountain camping (w/ travel trailer) trip the week after New Years.Any suggestions?
We have camped many places in and near the Smokys.Never have camped in the (cold) winter.We live in FL.
In the winter there are only two campgrounds (Cades Cove & Smokemont) open that time of the year and they don't take reservations in the winter but that won't be a problem since there won't be many other campers there. All the public campgrounds in the park and surrounding National Forests are primitive so don't plan on hookups.. If you're entering the park from the TN side I would chose Cades Cove but if you're coming through Cherokee then Smokemont would be more convenient. Here's the link to the park website.
