Unsafe drinking water is something that has plagued our society for quite some time. Some people have been fooled into thinking that the answer to unsafe water is to switch to bottled. What most people don't know about the bottled water industry is that there are allowable limits for contaminants in those products also, and this includes carcinogens such as Benzene. Bottled water is not the answer if pure drinking water is what you are seeking.
The only true way to avoid consuming unsafe drinking water is to filter it yourself. What you need to do in order to ensure that your water is safe to drink is purchase and install a home water purification system. You can even bottle your own water in "BPA free" bottles so that you can have the convenience that you want, but with none of the hazards.

Can drinking vast amounts of water make you look bloated and gain weight?
The past few days, all I have been drinking water, along with my usual food intake. I don't usually drink a lot of water but since Monday, each day I have drunk around 2-3 liters. I weighed myself today and have seem to have put on a few pounds.

Yeah, i have been drinking it throughout the day in large amounts. about 500ml at a time.
Water cannot make you 'gain' weight; it makes you weigh more because it's there. It goes in and out. It's temporary weight. If you drink too much at once, you will feel bloated. After you urinate, you feel lighter and empty. Don't drink too much at once. Drink small amounts steadily over a moderate period of time. Don't stop drinking water altogether though; it does much more good for you than just hydrating.
