Extreme Pak

Recently, President Obama was in news for bowing "too low" in front of Emperor Akihito of Japan, while on what Colbert calls a "world apology tour". While most Americans were okay with the bow, Andrew Malcolm of Los Angeles times questioned how low would he go? Other columnists said the only mistake was in both bowing and shaking hands. If we go past all the hype and hoopla over the picture, I feel the real significance of this picture is in what it actually says about his personality- willingness to go an extra mile to please and set "things right". There is nothing wrong with that as long as he knows how to guard against overcorrection.
Unfortunately, that is easier said than done. The pendulum of U.S. government seems to be swinging too far wide an out. If President Bush was oblivious and disdainful of world opinion, Obama White House seems too tuned into it. While Bush wanted to export American values abroad, Obama wants to import these back home even if those are not the values that America really needs. If Bush was scared of China gaining ground in Africa and Latin America, Obama invited China to play a larger role on the world stage, even at the risk of displeasing India who was made to feel more like a Chinese backyard than an important strategic partner. The outrage over the joint Sino-American statement later on forced Roemer, the American Ambassador to India and the State department in Washington DC to get into some serious damage control.
Consider another foreign policy example. While Bush was too impetuous and rash in his decision to invade Iraq, Obama has been dithering for months on his Af-Pak strategy and troop levels. In his decision to appear solemn in sending higher troops to Afghanistan/ Pakistan, he seems to be overcompensating for the rashness of Bush regime.
Why is this overcorrection? If he believes the problem would simply go away by delaying the decision long enough, he is wrong. Totalitarian and dictatorial regimes do not necessarily respond well to friendly overtures. Iraq might have been a wrong war, but that does not mean Af-Pak is a wrong war. Nearly every terrorist attack, actual or thwarted, anywhere in the world in last decade originated or had links to that part of the world, and the problem is not going to go away merely by closing our eyes. Something serious needs to be done now, and definitely before other partner countries lose their political will as well.
Incidentally, this overcorrection on the foreign policy front is merely a mirror image of his domestic political agenda. All aspects of his domestic policy agenda from health reforms and financial sector reforms to CEO compensation and private sector regulation indicate a major swing or reversal of Bush White House. While it is true that his predecessor pulled the economy, foreign policy and everything else in one extreme direction (completely free, unhindered run), Mr. Obama, elected on a "change agenda" is inherently in danger of pulling it in the other direction (serious government interference and overreach). If there is any lesson to be learnt from previous regime, it is this: The challenge for him is not to swing too hard, for the momentum that takes the swing far and ahead also brings it far and back. So, the best he can hope to do is to restore balance, sit back, enjoy (and smell the proverbial roses). Of course, it is easier said than done.

How can I deal with unruly neighbors whom have no sence of responsiblity?
Well it's like this. Now I have neighbors who cost problmes in the form of litter.
The problem started two weeks ago when there is a pak of wild dogs roaming the streets destroying trashes and killing livestock. My family set of ducks was killed by them years ago. Well the neighbors across the street has suddendly decided to walk across the street and set their trash into mine. Then later, the dogs would come and destory the trash...leaving it on my yard. Yet they won't do anything because the trash isn't on their lawn...as if they expected.
Two weeks later, they gotten used to dump their trash on my lawn and with dogs destorying the trash, it spread on other people lawns as well. I'm at my wit end to the point that I would called the police, confront them directly, or at the extreme point to do actual harm to them. But my elders won't allow my to do anything...ANYTHING!!
I can't take it anymore. What should I do about them and there bad habit of dumping trash.
You carry your responsibility in very polite and friendly way, others will follow you, sooner or later.
