High Power
Every car is different, so that means each one is going to come with different car speakers. Car speakers are created by the car manufacturer based on a number of considerations, so if you are someone looking to buy a new car and optimize your sound experience, or outfit your current car, it helps to know a bit more about your options.
Car speakers come in a variety of shapes, sizes, styles and serve different purposes, so make sure you know about your speaker needs first. Do you listen to music? What kind? Is it bass heavy, or does the guitar stand out most? Do you listen to a lot of talk radio or books on CD? Each of these different types of sounds have optimal car speakers to suit them. Some people may need speakers that perform multiple tasks. Again, knowing exactly what you need is important.
Before you buy new car speakers, you need to think about two components: sensitivity and power handling. What does that mean? Sensitivity is how much sound a car speaker will output depending on the stereo power inputs. This might sound confusing, but think about it this way: a low power car stereo needs higher sensitivity speakers, a high power car stereo needs lower sensitivity speakers. As long as you find the right match between power and sensitivity, you should get a nice sound out of your system.
Power handling is how much power a speaker can take without getting distorted sounds. Power is measured in watts. Again, think of our above example, if you have a low power car stereo, your speakers do not need a lot of power handling capacity. Conversely, if your car stereo is high power, you will need speakers than can handle high power output. More specifically knowing the amp output of the car stereo will help you match the car speaker amp needs as well.
Once you have these basic requirements understood and figured out, then you can have some fun and decide all the details you want in your speakers. You will want to decide between full range speakers and component speakers first, as these are the two main types of speakers.
Full range speakers come with all the components you will need for great sound in one. They will come with a woofer for bass and tweeter for treble sounds. The woofer and tweeter really help to clarify the sounds coming from your speakers and can help make them "pop" more if you want.
Component speakers just means you will purchase all the parts separately for a completely customizable sound. With component speakers, you can really go all out and find the absolute best speaker parts for your car and your particular needs.

You already answered it! High powered allows you to "zoom in" closer and see more detail, and a low power allows a larger field of view with less detail.
