I was just recently diagnosed with mono, but im supposed to go to camp in 2 weeks?
So, yesterday i was diagnosed with mono. But im supposed to go to a week-long camp in 2 weeks? What do i do? I really really really want to go on this trip. Its with ALL of my friends. I really dont want to feel left out. My friends know about this, and they are praying for me to get better and also to be able to go on this trip. I dont know exactly what im asking here.. but i guess im asking, do you think i will be able to go on this camping trip? My doctor told me my mono is pretty aggressive, and if i get hit in the stomach or something my spleen can enlarge and could cause internal bleeding. More specifically about this camp.. what we will be doing is setting up our tents when we get there, doing a LOT of hiking - which is the main thing we will be doing (this shouldnt be a problem for me right? i mean, hiking doesnt really involve my stomach?) and at one point we will propel off a small cliff thing, and canoe and stuff. what do you think?? PLEASE HELP!
i had mono last year at boarding school....you might not feel it now but i guarantee you will feel it in a week or two. DO NOT GO
you can actually relapse and get a worse case of mono and let me tell you ...IT SUCKS
the one thing i can tell you about mono is...REST and DO NOT PUSH IT
take this advice ...its very important
even if you do feel great....you could go out and do something that day and feel like crap that night...it doesn't get any better if you push it
