If you have any old MAGLITE's laying around, what I would suggest to do is convert them to an LED, using a Maglite LED conversion kit. Listed below is a very simple way of doing your own LED Conversions right at home.
It is very easy to upgrade your old Maglite to LED, all you really need to do is replace the halogen bulb with a MAG-LED module.
Pretty simple right?
It really is, the only thing you really have to watch for is to make sure you got the right module.
The main upgrade kits are for C or D size flashlights, which come in 2 cell, 3 cell, or 4 cell length.
The ease of this transfer has something to do with the old halogen lamps being similar in size to the LED units. Thus making it a perfect fit.
A very important thing to remember is that you must make sure that you do not get the wrong conversion kit. Each cell size has a different kit to go with it, if you get the wrong one you are going to overdrive, or possible undersink the LED. This will ruin your Maglite, and we all know you don't want to do that.
The benefits to doing this conversion, is two fold:
- First off, you will get a more sturdy MAG, as the LED is very well built, and is not going to shatter on an impact.
- And secondly, the battery life of your newly upgraded mag is going to be 2 - 6 times longer, so, you will have to buy less batteries, or recharge them less often, all in all, that is a very good thing - More time to play with it.
So as you can see, there is nothing really stopping you from upgrading; its easy, its safe 9 as long as you follow the proper instructions), and it makes for a much better MAG, that is going to last you a lot longer than your old one would.

im at a BBQ and im using my swiss army knife to vut the pieces of meat. then other people took my lead and used thier knife to vut the meat. did you ever do some thing similar?
