What is wrong with my LED?
I ordered 5 mm color-changing LEDs and three types of resistors to use for batteries of different voltages. I have 47 ohms, 82 ohms, and 220 ohms. I tried using all three, while connected to a AAA battery. Each time the LED glowed red, but did not change color. I tried it with two LEDs, to make sure it was not one broken one, but had the same results.
What is wrong with it?
There is no such thing as a "color changing LED". There are packages with 3 different LEDs in one package, one for each color.
If you look up the specs on the 3 LEDs (you do have the specs?) you will probably see that the red one is about 1.3 volts, and the others are in the 2 to 3 volt range.
Since you only have a 1.5 volt battery, with that voltage you can only get the red one to glow. You need a higher voltage to get the others to light.
