Led Microlight
An "every day carry" or EDC light for short, is a flashlight that is compact enough to keep in your pocket or purse on a daily basis during morning, noon and night. Tactical led flashlights are gaining in popularity for use as every day carry lights due to the extreme power of high quality led diodes in addition to their compact size and extreme durability.
Led tactical lights are often constructed from aircraft grade aluminum that can withstand a great deal of wear and tear. Sometimes you may find flashlights less than thirty dollars that boast having ten or more leds in their construction. More leds in a flashlight does not always mean they are brighter or give off better light. Led diodes have come such a long ways that only one high quality led is really necessary, especially in the less costly price points.
Led flashlights with Xenon or Cree led diodes offer excellent brightness to the point where they may even be considered weapons. The light from high quality leds can momentarily blind a person if shown directly in their eyes from only a short distance. Many of these quality led lights from manufacturers such as Fenix, Surefire and Streamlight operate for hours with only one AA, triple-a or CR123a battery.
The compact size and durable construction of smaller tactical led flashlights utilizing only one battery makes them ideal as an every day carry light. It is most convenient to have a good source of bright light available wherever you go, whether it is a dark parking garage or just perusing the hard to reach corners of a basement.
Every day carry flashlights make excellent gifts for just about anyone, although younger adults should be made aware of the high intensity of the led lights and to respect their powerful, downright blinding beams. In addition to led lights in tactical aluminum housings that fit in your palm, there are key chain led lights that are ultra compact and offer surprising beam intensity. One such brand of keychain leds is the Photon microlight.
Utilizing small coin-sized batteries, the Photon leds and other manufacturers of similar sized leds offer enough bright light to see your way through any darkness. Though not as powerful as many tactical led flashlights, they still offer a nice amount of bright light and their extremely small size allows them to be placed on a key chain with ease.

Would shining a bright blue or green LED light into your eyes for light therapy for 20 minutes be dangerous?
for your eyes? This question deals with blue or green LED lights especially, and they are anywhere from an inch to 12 inches away from the eyes. I'm talking about a little LED light like this in particular - http://www.light-reviews.com/inova_microlight/
Would this be dangerous, could this cause permanent eye damage? I realize there is a blue light hazard, but does the same also apply to green? Light therapy seems to be beneficial for people with depression or sleep disorders, and has helped me. But I need something more portable, so thought I'd ask. What would be a safe level of lux for light therapy up close, especially about an inch from the eyes?
before shining any bright things in your eyes, remember that even if they have researched the issue, the future is unknown to other than God. Is your eyes worth the probable psychological benefits you get from such so-called therapies ?!
