Light Security

Having an outdoor security light is a great way to ward off want to be intruders. These lights work by using an infrared or microwave sensor and anytime anyone or anything (animals included) get in range of these sensors it will trigger an electronic impulse and the light will go on for a set amount of time. So when an intruder sees a house that has these security lights mounted, it would be wise of them just to move on, and studies show that they do.
There are a few basic steps you need to take in order to switch your existing normal light with a new security light. As always you need to turn off the circuit in which it is attached to. Make sure you turn off the right one by using a circuit tester or just cut the power to the entire house.
Now you need to remove the old light bulb fixture and cover by removing the screws and carefully pulling it off the mount. Then you can go ahead and loosen the fixture or mount as well. Usually they are attached with nothing more than a few screws.
When the fixture is loosened it should be able to dangle from the wires and will pull away from the wall, ceiling, or soffit. Carefully remove all of the wire caps or electrical tape and then completely remove the fixture.
The next step is to take the new fixture box and connect the related wires to the house wires. All of them should be color coded and labeled to make it easier on you. You'll need to use wire caps or nuts or electrical tape to make sure the wires are fastened properly and won't create a spark or shock someone.
Once you have the wires synced and attached, then go ahead and fasten the fixture into the house. The light plate should fit nicely into the new fastener with just a few bolts or screws. An outdoor security light normally comes standard with a weather proof water resistant protector plate as well. Don't forget to install this just in case it was to get wet.
Now all you have left to do is screw in the light bulbs and the globe or cover if there is one. That's it! Turn the power back on and give it a test. You should also be a few options on the light for you to adjust the timer of the light and/or how sensitive you want it to be. Most people don't like it going off if a falling leaf were to blow in front of it.
Once you have it adjusted accordingly, then you will be that much safer from possible intruders. In some cases it may be smart to install multiple lights to cover all entrances to the house.

What shall I do If my security light comes on in my chevy impala?
Im having a passlock problem in my 2002 chevy impala. The security light blinks on and the car wont start. I have to wait like 10 minutes before it resets itself. The dealor says it cost 600.00 to fix and no one else would touch it. Ive called around. Is there an easier way out of this?
all chevrolets have this problem, even mine. this summer i found out what my problem was. first the light blinks then, my tahoe woulg turn off while i applied the break peddle. killing all power to vehicle.
chevrolrt dealer told me same thing $600 to fix.
i thought the all\arm system was holding it off, on anti-thift, cause i could hear the alarm box making clicking sounds
the problem with mine was a loose positive battery post.
even tho the post was tight, just wasn't tight enough'
post was tight into the battery, but loose between both cables that hooked to the positive pose, not much just enough to cause problems.
what i did was put a lock washer between both cables, and installed cables in a v shape from bottom looking up.
havent had the problem again.
around here, i know at least 7 people with same problem
give it a try, before spending $600

Dances With Wolves [VHS]
$0.01 Kevin Costner's 1990 epic won a bundle of Oscars for a moving, engrossing story of a white soldier (Costner) who singlehandedly mans a post in the 1870 Dakotas, and becomes a part of the Lakota Sioux community who live nearby. The film may not be a masterpiece, but it is far more than the sum of good intentions. The characters are strong, the development of relationships is both ambitious and care... |

Terminator [VHS]
$1.95 This is the film that cemented Schwarzenegger's spot in the action-brawn firmament, and it was well deserved. He's chilling as the futuristic cyborg who kills without fear, without love, without mercy. James Cameron's story and direction are pared to the bone and all the more creepy. But don't overlook the contributions of Linda Hamilton, who more than holds her own as the Terminator's would-be vi... |

Road House [VHS]
$2.27 One of those movies that helped usher out the era of action films that had plots that made any sense (and also helped reverse the direction of Patrick Swayze's career arc), Road House concerns a handsome, existential bouncer in a rinky-dink honky-tonk who owns both a degree in philosophy and a Mercedes. And that's perhaps the most believable aspect of the whole movie. Swayze stars as Dalton, "the ... |

Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Second Season
$12.45 It's more of the same for Larry David's sitcom from HBO, and for fans, that's a good thing. The show--largely extemporized--follows suit of David's former series, Seinfeld: it's a show about nothing, just the everyday life of the star going about his pseudo-real world. But David's show has far more edge (thanks, in part, to airing on cable TV) with all the bad luck, embarrassing situations, and dr... |

Run, Fatboy, Run
$0.90 It only makes sense that a television star would turn to a fellow practitioner for his first film. With Run Fatboy Run--no commas, please--Friends' David Schwimmer doesn't reinvent the romantic comedy, but he finds the perfect lovable loser of a lead in TV vet Simon Pegg (Faith in the Future, Spaced). On his wedding day, London lay-about Dennis (Pegg, who co-wrote with Michael Ian Black) deserts h... |
