Microfilter Water
You might have heard of Aeropress coffee makers at one time or another. This brewer functions similarly to a French press coffee machine with a few twists. If you are looking for a machine that will not use electricity but will still give you a flavourful cup of coffee, you might find this brewer ideal.
How does it work?
Just like what a mentioned earlier, it functions much like a French press machine. Water and ground coffee are mixed for up to ten seconds. Afterwards, you push some sort of a cylindrical rod on it and the pressure from the air will help water infuse in the coffee grounds better. After that, it is filtered by an integrated micro-filter until it reaches the bottom of the machine where brewed coffee is not ready.
Is it ideal?
If you like the fact that you can save energy, then yes, it is an ideal machine. But it also has some more good qualities. Even though it is a manual brewer, it does brew pretty fast. It can brew up to 30 seconds.
As for the taste, many people can vouch for its ability to brew great tasting coffee. According to many people, it does not produce bitter-tasting cup of java. That is because the brewing cycle is a bit short. It does not take such a long time to process the grounds which is what happens to some drip brewers which is why you might taste a bitterness to the coffee those machines brews. The air pressure also allows most of the java essential oils to be released and mixed with water. This might also be a better choice for java drinkers who have a slight stomach acidity problem. Because the temperature is not that high in brewing and the length of time of brewing cycle, it does not produce a lot of acid.
The downside is most likely the temperature of coffee. If you like your cup of joe steaming and tongue-scalding hot, this might not produce the right temperature you like. And with that said, you need to boil water up first so you can brew your java.
Cleaning and maintenance is nil but be careful not to lose the parts of the machine. Since they are detachable, keep the device in a safe place where kids will not mistake it for a toy. If you are thinking of having a different kind of coffee experience, you might want to give this a try.

Can I get rent back from my landlord?
There has been ant and termite infestation since move in 3 months ago. Landlord has not exterminated, even though I have complained 5 times.
Now I learn that there has been a decaying rat in my water catchment tank, which I have been using to shower, wash dishes, and brush my teeth (it's been in there for a very long time). There was no microfilter, only a carbon filter installed 2 months ago.
Landlord had tank "shocked," and had someone put on .5 microfilter, and is cleaning out tank next week. (BTW, she lives out of state, no property manager here in Hawaii).
Am I entitled to get my rent back if I have been showering, washing dishes and teeth in unsanitary water infested with dead rats? I have gotten unknown sickness and rashes since I moved in, but was unable to figure out why.
No. Your not entitled to anything. Would money actually take away the grossness of what you described?? Unless the landlord actually knew about the rat and you can prove such, you have no case. Even if you had a case, you've suffered no monetary damages.
