Navigation Compass

Mexico, also known as the United Mexican States, is part of North America. It's located near Guatemala and Belize. There are also several bodies of water that are found in the area. These are the North Pacific Ocean in the west, the Caribbean Sea in the southeast, and the Gulf of Mexico in the east. Its location near the Tropic of Cancer makes it a pleasant place to visit all year round. The seas, meanwhile, is just as inviting for some sailing in Mexico.
During your vacation, make sure that you can pass through the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez). It's located very close to several islands, such as Granitos and Mejia. From these islands, you can continue to Sail Rock and Window Rock, which is found in Angel Island. Besides cruising, you can also come down from your boat and take a hike into the desert. Contrary to what you could be thinking, there are many species of plants and animals that thrive superbly under the heat of the sun. One of the giant cacti in the world, the Cardon cacti, are to be found all over Midriff Islands.
On board a yacht charter for some sailing in Mexico, you can journey to La Paz. This is the capital of Baja, California Sur. It's a small town that's blessed with abundant natural resources. The beaches are unspoiled and ideal for kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. You will also never have a problem knowing where to stay as there are plenty of hotels and beach resorts found all over the area. You may also enjoy some whale or dolphin watching at Espiritu Santo Island, which is just nearby. When you're done with the waters, you can then continue to land-based adventures, like hiking, cave painting tours, golfing, and even mountain biking.
The Yucatan Peninsula gives you a good alternative for sailing in Mexico. There are just too many places that you can visit, including the colonial towns. In Izamal, you can look for the Franciscan convent built by Fray Diego de Landa. There is also the Museum of the Community near Cinco de Mayo Park. It has countless Spanish artifacts that speak of the history of the town and Mexico. The best place to shop, meanwhile, is in the Motul Market, close to Municipal Palace. Produce are known to be fresh. Tizimin is seldom visited by tourists, so if you're looking for privacy, you may want to stay here.
Sailing in Mexico allows you to enjoy the bounties of the sea. But to make the most of your vacation, learn to take a walk and feel the presence of Spanish influence all over the country.

For instrument rated pilots or navigation experts...?
This is a question concerning low altitude charts...
Between the compass rose circle around a NAVAID (VOR, etc), and the beginning of the line for the airway outbound, you'll see the number corresponding to the radial for that airway. Most just have the radial listed. For example, due east would have "090" there. We all get that part. My question is: Why do some of those have a degree symbol after them? 99% don't have that little ยบ symbol, but there are a select few radial IDs that do have that symbol. Why is this? What does that symbol say about that radial? This is an extra credit question I was offered in one of my air traffic controlling classes. My instructor has already told us that the answer is not in the legend, and that I could easily stump the local FAA office. I've glanced through part of the AIM, asked an old instructor of mine, and have tried FSS at Cleveland. I appreciate any help or tips you have for me. This is a very tough and trivial question.
Get ready to impress your instructor...
The degree symbol is used to show in which direction the number should be read. In other words, 061 would have a degree symbol so that you don't accidentally read it upside down as 190. By contrast, the 159 degree radial doesn't have one, because that number can't be read upside down and mistaken for a different number.
Check out every radial that you see with a degree symbol and you'll see that it could be (accidentally) read upside down if the symbol weren't there.
Can I have the 10 points now?
