Person Tent
When choosing the type of tent that you need, when planning to go camping, consider how many people will be staying in the tent, and what weather you will be expecting for the time that you intend to go camping. There is a vast difference in weight and portability between the lightweight one or two man tents that provide light shelter in summer - and a 10 by 12 metre canopy, with awnings and separated sleeping areas intended for the use of a family for a week or two on their annual summer holiday.
Four season tents are designed primarily to be a barrier against extremely cold winter temperatures and to minimise exposure to at least moderate falls of rain and snow. Whether your four season tent is designed for back pack or to be unloaded from the family wagon - it will be of heavier construction and reduced in size compared with your average three season tent for parkland or at the sea side.
If choosing to go camping when the season is cold and chilly, it will be your number one priority to make sure that your tent is suited to withstand heavy falls of rain or snow - and to keep out the icy cold. There are many varieties of summer tent, all lightweight and bright in construction that will give you plenty of sleeping space and elbow room when catering for a family summer holiday but if you also want to venture out in times when the weather is not so reliable, a good idea is to get a three season family or smaller tent to serve in the summer season, with a four season package to make it more secure if you expect to go camping in winter.
Some four seasons tents are made in a lightweight insulating fibre which may be more expensive than a similarly sized three season tent but will prove to be the best option if it is your choice to be going camping in all four seasons.
Any concerns about having a smaller tent to combat cooler weather can often be resolved by staying with the larger tent to provide everyone with plenty of room - but to buy heavy duty sleeping bags so that even if the tent cools down, it will protect against rain or snow, and people will be warm enough snuggled down in their sleeping bags

Looking for a three-person tent for Indian climatic conditions...?
Looking for a three-person, completely waterproof, very lightweight, easy to set up tent for Indian outdoors (min temp - 0 degrees celsius); I'd prefer if the tent has a vestibule as well. Please respond with brand name and model so I can look up the specs on the Net.
I would go with Sierra Design, Marmot or Black Diamond. All of these companies make a high end tent. Price will range based on size and weight. Tents don't really have a temp Min or Max, that will be more of a sleeping bag issue. Any good 3 season tent w/ a rainfly will provide enough protection in 0 celsius weather(if you have a good 0 celsius sleeping bag) Go to REI.com to get a good breakdown on each tent. If you are going to be spending lots of time camping in the rain, i would suggest a silt tarp. These are very very lightweight tarps that pack down small. They are completely waterproof and are great for adding additional rain protection for your tent in downpours, or to create a dry sitting area. It's always nice to have a space outside of the tent to wait out rainstorms. Hope this helps.
