Piece Sets
Bath gift sets are some of the easiest gifts to buy and most people like to give soaps and scented things. But why not give a long-lasting gift that everybody in the family can use ... like towels? After all, a person can never have too many towels.
While towels may seem boring and mundane, they can be a real godsend for individuals and families just starting out. As a young couple, my parents moved our family overseas for an extended period of time. Before leaving, their many friends gave them several Bon Voyage showers which included gifts such as luggage, sheets, dishes and ... you guessed it ... towels!
Since everyone was giving the same type of gifts, knowing that they needed to last for many years to come, there was a lot of everything. So my mom just stored the extra towels in the suitcases and pulled out a new towel every time one started getting ragged looking. Those greatly appreciated gifts of sheets and towels lasted for several decades and my mom never bought another towel until they retired.
Towels as part of or as the main focus of bath gift sets are an easy thing to shop for. They are compact, easy to select, extremely useful and come in so many different colors and styles. The simplest and most practical way to give towels are as a set and there are three things to consider.
The Color
The most logical place to start would be with the color. What color or color scheme is your recipient using? If you know the answer to this question, then you can buy accordingly. But if you don't know, don't stress about it. You can never go wrong with white so just buy a set of those and package them up with a bright colored ribbon.
The Texture
Towels come in several different textures so you will be choosing this based on your recipient's preference (if you know it), your preference (what kind YOU would like to have), or your budget. The most well-known textures are velour, cotton terry, and luxury towels such as the ultra-absorbent Egyptian cotton towels.
The Number of Towels
Towels can be purchased individually but are readily available and a better bargain packaged as sets. The most popular choices are the 2- and 6-piece sets although there are also 3- and 8-piece and sometimes 12-piece sets to choose from. The packaged sets will contain different combinations of bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, fingertip towels, and bath sheets.
