Gas detectors are very important. I know some people say that they can smell gas with their nose. What happens if the person looking at your house just happens to have a cold or allergies that day?
Another great detector to have is a carbon monoxide detector. For one, it's a great tool to protect me while performing your services. And secondly this poisonous gas may be found in residences. Carbon monoxide poisoning will give you flu-like symptoms or even worse, carbon monoxide poisoning can kill you. Some properties have carbon monoxide detectors in them but many houses do not. If you do not have one in yours please get one. This is a life-saving tool and it costs less than a pair of tennis shoes. What is your or your family's life worth?
You should know about the tools that are used so that you do not hire someone that is not qualified to do a good job for you. Your home is your castle so protect it by investing in a quality inspection. You should have an understanding of why it is important that the company you hire has the proper tools to inspect your house.
