Problem sewing.?
for some reason on my sewing machine (Singer Inspriation) on one side there is a lot of thead and on the other side there is none. Plus it doesn't lock properly. i have the settings it auto tention. and with is 1 the smallest setting.
Let me guess: there's loops on the bottom of the fabric, but the top of the stitching looks ok.
If so, rethread, making sure the presser foot is raised when you thread the tension. Raising the presser foot opens the tension disks and allows the thread to enter. If you thread with the presser foot down, it seems like the thread is in the tension, but there's no real tension on the thread, "autotension" or no.
Additional issues to check include, needle in backwards (they're not symmetrical!) and thread too heavy or light for the needle size, as well as cruddlies in the tension (open tension disks, "floss" with a fold of well-washed cotton fabric moistened with rubbing alcohol. dry and re-thread).
