When Senator Barack Obama became President, he had defied the odds as he took over an economy in freefall, and a nation stuck in prolonged conflicts in Afghanistan, and Iraq. He was not only a symbol of hope, but one of the most popular elected Presidents in contemporary history. Today, only one year later, the forty-forth President, has to many failed to deliver. What are the eight mistakes he made, during his first year in office?
1. Communicate Effectively
Barack Obama is a great communicator, one reason he mesmerized millions of doubtful voters to help elect him. Somehow this communication broke-down, as many see the results of the first year as poor. He has somehow failed to catch the shifting mood of an impatient country, suffering from self-doubt, and cynicism towards anything their political leaders do.
2. Cross Political Lines
Before he became President, America was deeply divided, between Republicans, and Democrats. The divisions were stark, as the USA to outsiders was looking like a divided, and intolerant nation. Barack Obama, promised to heal the divisions, and bring in both parties who could form a contentious on re-building a broke, indebted nation. This still never has materialized.
3. The Economy
Saving a failed economy, does not always mean much in popularity stakes. After one year, the Government focused on saving and fixing the problems, but did not concentrate on what voters see as a good economy- job growth, and money in their pocket. The economy when he took over as commander in chief, was in freefall. Billions were borrowed in stimulus packages, and bailouts, but this did not bring jobs or the money in the pockets of those who believed in him.
4. Afghanistan
The Afghanistan and Iraq wars divided America, and the World. Iraq is probably fixed with a scheduled withdrawal this year, but the situation in Afghanistan steadily worsened. The President inherited Afghanistan, the conflict had been worsening since 2001, but many see the strategy of bringing in more troops, as a doubtful fix to an ever deepening problem.
5. Misjudging the Opposition
The Republican party lost the 2008 election because many people blamed them for the freefalling economy, and the perceived stagnation in Iraq and Afghanistan, -they lost the trust of the people. Barack Obama, may of misjudged how this tainted opposition fought back, with "tea party" revolts, and radical anti-Obama newscasts from well known Republican news channels. He misjudged the strength of the opposition, and the will they had to create doubt, over his administration.
6. Getting People to Believe in Themselves
President Obama made millions believe in him, but many of his speeches were actually asking people to believe in themselves and create change. Once in power, instead of focusing on fixing the acute problems the USA faces, he could of continued creating this self-belief, by encouraging ways to "get communities together and fix things".
7. No Green Economy
Change and a new way forward meant to millions a new "Green Economy," and jobs in this economy. This never has materialized in a big way, neither has the infrastructure and other projects promised to create employment. To many there is no "New Deal," and the efforts on fixing the economy, have excluded this promise so far.
8. Jobs
America today is a nation fearing more job losses, and the poverty that comes with unemployment. The jobless recovery, angered many people who saw Wall Street and the banks recover, but faced mounting unemployment themselves. The man of change, started to look like the politicians of old. This fed the current rebellious and angry nature of many people still fearing economic decline, and possible poverty, as they lost belief in the "promises" made during the 2008 Presidential campaign.
Everyone makes mistakes, the old administration made plenty of those, but the day Barack Obama walked into the White House, the emphasis was on him, and not the old administration. Fixing these "mistakes" and the negative perceptions of the current American government, is one way Barack Obama could still win over the most cynical and untrusting voters.

I know that Epiphones are "set-up" in the USA, but I am wondering about where the wood was crafted and ect., other than the set-up of the guitar. I have an Epi Les Paul Standard and its crafted overseas somewhere. Thanks to all who ty to help with question.
