Which GPS belt/watch should I buy for marathon training?
Hi,
I'm training up for the Marine Corps marathon and the Sun Trust Richmond marathon towards the end of the year. While I'm running around 30 miles a week (I just did my 15 miler yesterday), I'm heading to Dubai and Turkey for vacation next week.
My concern is that I don't know the distances there and I'm concerned that I won't know how far I'm running.
I'm trying to track how far I'm running and how fast I'm running. Apparently, there are a few watches out there that tell me this.
So my questions are the following:
1. Should I get a watch or a belt? What would you recommend? What's the difference and how should I pick one?
2. What's the overall 'winner' based on durability, quality, something that meets my requirements, and affordable?

I think the basic Garmin Forerunner 50 would suit your needs. You can get it at Costco.com for $80 (that comes with the footpod and Heartrate monitor). Or you can buy the Forerunner 405 with GPS, which is pricier.
